How do you make progress on guitar without practicing 6 hours a day?

If you're reading this, you've probably dreamed about playing electric or acoustic guitar for a long time.

I understand completely. I went through the exact same frustrations.

In school I studied piano and classical guitar. It was useful, but it wasn't what I truly wanted. I liked The Beatles, Elvis, Green Day, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin.

I wanted to learn solos, have fun, do practical things. But I had no money for lessons and no access to resources.

So I tried on my own.

It was hard.

I'd listen to my favorite songs. Hit pause. Try to reproduce the solos and chords. Sometimes I'd catch a recording and stare at the guitarist's fingers. It was hard.

Sometimes it took me an hour just to learn a few notes. It frustrated me. I was wasting time. And at the same time I wanted to hang out with friends. Go out. Enjoy life.

I didn't want to sit 5 hours a day staring at sheet music. I wanted simpler, faster methods.

Then I came across a clip of John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was playing a famous song live but the guitar solo wasn't how I knew it.

Not at all how I remembered it. He was improvising. Free.

Without copying what he'd recorded in the studio.

That's when I realized. 🚀

Maybe I don't need to reproduce exactly what someone else does. Maybe I can create my own solos. Maybe I can learn… differently.

It was the beginning of a journey: how can I make REAL progress, without wasting time and without getting bored?

Years passed. I started playing in bands. I started earning money from music. And through all of this I worked on a method: fast, clear, efficient.

Only what you actually need. No useless things. I learned from all my mistakes and all my wasted time.

Now we have all the resources in the world on the internet. But there are too many.

Even I, as a guitar teacher, when I want to learn something new, need to know exactly what I want to learn, where to look, and make sure everything is in progressive order.

I started teaching in 2013. In 2020 I moved fully online.

And what I've learned from the whole journey is simple:
